General information only
The guides, size charts, weight figures and regulatory summaries on this site are written to be genuinely useful and are researched carefully. They are still general information. They are not legal advice, engineering advice, environmental compliance advice or insurance advice, and they are not a substitute for confirming requirements with the relevant authority.
Weights, sizes and capacities
Container dimensions differ between manufacturers, and the weight of a given material varies considerably with moisture, age and composition. Every figure published here is an approximate working number intended to help you choose a size, not a specification. The dimensions and allowance that apply to your rental are the ones confirmed on your quote.
Regulations and permits
Wisconsin disposal rules, municipal ordinances, right-of-way permit requirements and transfer station policies change, and they can differ between the 15 Kenosha-area and southeastern Wisconsin communities we cover. Most communities on our service-area list are independently governed Wisconsin municipalities — the City of Kenosha, six incorporated villages and four Wisconsin civil towns in Kenosha County, plus four communities in neighboring Racine County — each with its own engineering or public works permitting, and on a county road the Kenosha County Highway Department may be involved. So a public-street or right-of-way placement generally needs sign-off from that specific jurisdiction — not a single countywide rule. The City of Kenosha's own Engineering Division, for example, runs an online right-of-way permit application; we were unable to confirm one uniform, citable ordinance section covering roll-off container placement specifically across every community we serve, so this site deliberately keeps that guidance general (confirm with your specific municipality before placing a container off your own property) rather than publishing an invented section number. Always confirm current requirements directly with the relevant municipality and with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for household hazardous waste before relying on them.
Hazardous materials
Asbestos and lead paint work in Wisconsin is regulated and, above defined thresholds, must be carried out by licensed contractors with prior notification to the state — a rule that matters here given how much renovation of long-owned, older and mid-century homes is happening across Kenosha and the rest of Kenosha County. Nothing on this site should be read as suggesting that such material may be placed in a container or handled without the required testing, licensing and notification.
